Vinyl that holds up to Minnesota life

Between slush tracked in from the driveway, a dog with wet paws, and a basement that gets damp every spring, Twin Cities floors take a beating. Today's vinyl shrugs most of that off. It is waterproof, tough against scratches, and the better wood and stone looks are hard to tell from the real thing. TPM Flooring installs luxury vinyl plank, vinyl tile, and sheet vinyl for homes and businesses around Eagan, MN.

Our mobile showroom brings sample boards to your door, so you can hold them against your own cabinets, paint, and natural light. Tom Michaud and the team can carry Mannington and Shaw lines, along with commercial lines from Patcraft, Tandus, and Interface when a project calls for them.

Three vinyl types, three different jobs

People say vinyl as if it were one product. It is really a family, and picking the right member for each room matters more than picking a brand. We sort this out with you at the kitchen table during your free estimate.

  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) - wood looks, fully waterproof, a natural fit for whole main levels and finished basements
  • Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) - stone and ceramic looks without the cold feel, good for kitchens, baths, and entries
  • Sheet vinyl - big continuous rolls with very few seams, a practical pick for laundry rooms, small baths, and commercial spaces

Where vinyl beats wood and tile

Where vinyl beats wood and tile

Solid hardwood does not like standing water, and tile can crack when the ground moves or a heavy pan drops. Vinyl handles both without fuss, feels softer underfoot than tile, and runs quieter than most laminate. If you are weighing it against hardwood or tile, we are happy to lay samples side by side.

It also goes down over many existing subfloors once they are flattened, which can keep demolition costs lower than a full tear-out. If your floor needs work first, our removal and prep service covers it.

Installed by people who sweat the details

A vinyl floor lives or dies on prep. Flat subfloors, correct expansion space at the walls, clean transitions at doorways, and neat trim work are what separate a floor that looks great in year five from one that is buckling. Our crews pull and reset baseboards, fit transitions, haul away the old floor, and stand behind the work with a 1-year installation warranty. Read how that has gone for others on our reviews page.

Vinyl Flooring — your questions answered

The planks, tiles, and sheet goods we install are waterproof, so spills and mopping are fine, and they work well in basements and baths. Water that sits under the edges or seeps up from a leaking subfloor is still worth fixing, which is why we check moisture during the estimate.

LVP is waterproof and a little softer and quieter underfoot. Laminate has a hard surface and is usually more affordable, but it dislikes water. Take a look at our laminate options if budget is the main driver.

Often it can, if the tile is firmly bonded and the grout lines are filled in or skimmed flat first. We will check it at your home and tell you honestly whether to overlay or remove.

Good vinyl handles our temperature swings well. Very cheap vinyl may fade in a bright south window, and that is one reason we steer you toward mid-grade or better. Your free in-home estimate is the easiest place to compare; you can book one here.
