Mosaic tile - the detail that finishes a room
Glass, stone, and metal mosaic accents - backsplashes, niches, and shower floors hand-laid by Eagan, MN's detail tile specialists.

Where a little mosaic goes a long way
A band of mosaic or a patterned shower floor can turn a plain remodel into something that feels designed. TPM Flooring sources and installs mosaic around Eagan, MN in glass, ceramic, natural stone, hex, penny-round, and herringbone patterns.
Mosaic is also a practical choice for shower floors. The small pieces follow the slope to the drain, and the added grout lines give extra grip. Pair it with wall tile for a complete bathroom, or with a larger tile floor elsewhere.

Smart places to use mosaic
Mosaic works best as an accent or in smaller rooms where the detail is seen up close.
- Shower floors - small pieces conform to the slope and help with traction
- Backsplash bands - a stripe between plain tile and upper cabinets
- Niches and inset accents - make a shower niche a feature
- Powder room walls - lots of personality in a small footprint
- Fireplace surrounds and other focal points - eye-catching texture

The skill is in the seams
Most mosaics arrive on mesh sheets, and the trick is making the joins disappear. We dry-lay each sheet, shift individual pieces to break up repeating seams, and use the right thinset color so glass stays true to its color.
Glass needs gentle handling. We cut it carefully with a wet saw and use grout suited to glass so the faces are not scratched. See finished projects in our inspiration gallery.

Mosaic Tile — your questions answered
It takes more time per square foot because there are more pieces and more grout lines. Keeping the pattern continuous across sheet edges takes patience, and our crews take it seriously.
It is one of the best. Small pieces follow the slope and the extra grout lines help with grip. Read about the rest of the build on our wall tile page.
Cement grout can darken, especially in lighter shades. For showers and heavily used backsplashes we suggest epoxy grout, which resists staining.
